Redline is a modified car magazine. The sting features such a car
travelling at speed down a dramatically lit tunnel. Company logos of
sponsors adorn the side skirt as the camera pans down the side of the
car to the front wheel.
The sound of the engine is clearly heard with a
bassy exhaust note. Music plays as if it is coming from inside the car,
in a style familiar with the magazine’s audience. It uses a rising
filter that adds to the sense of drama. The car then brakes hard
locking the wheel, the sound of sqealing tyres fills the tunnel and the
car squirms to control the force.
The music reflects the change of
pace, timed exactly with the imagery. As the car comes to rest, the
smoke clears, and the image of the wheel is strongly presented, after
which the camera zooms into the centre cap where the redline logo sits,
filing the screen and ending the piece.
