Lumaform Search Engine Optimisation
Client: LumaformLaunch date: 13/07/2012
Lumaform approached us to help them get to the top spot for two highly competitive search terms 'LED Furniture' and 'Illuminated Furniture'. They had a brilliant new site designed and built by Aerian Studios and an awesome range of products but needed to get to number 1 on Google so the whole world could see what they had to offer.
The lack of key search terms on the site was our prime focus and we implemented some re-designed elements on the homepage. These maintained the sleek, minimalist look and feel whilst allowing us to add in some carefully worded copy.
It was essential for the website to be as search engine friendly as possible. We were already off to a good start as Aerian Studios had built the site following our best practice principles such as avoiding excessive code-bloat in the header and making sure we stick to correct, semantic use of html.
The next step was a backlinking campaign to create layers of supporting links around the Lumaform site directing users and search engine spiders through to lumaform.co.uk.
We believe that 'Content is King' when it comes to SEO and to this end we aim to post articles and blogs that are of genuine value rather than employing black-hat SEO techniques.
A Youtube account was created to host the new Lumaform branded video which shows off some of the amazing items of furniture, something that can also be referenced through the other blogs and articles.
Our next task is to enrich the homepage with the branded video. Not only will this boost search engine rankings (because video content gets higher rankings) but it will also help to reduce bounce rates and provide another way for users to engage with the Lumaform product line.
The bottom line? Before we started lumaform.co.uk wasn't in the top 100 Google results for 'LED furniture' - They are rank 4th. For the term 'Illuminated furniture' Lumaform have climbed from 17th to 2nd place. We won't be satisfied until Lumaform are at number one. Watch this space - Or better yet Google 'LED furniture' and see for yourself.
