Aerian Studios were tasked with the Job of taking the current CBeebies website and moving it from an old internal BBC platform to a more flexible XML driven content management system based on Alfresco.

This goal required Aerian Studios to take the existing XML data from the CBeebies storage area and re-master it into data that the new CMS platform would understand via XSLT transformations. Once this had been achieved the newly formed XML data was imported into the alfresco based CMS and new xml schemas were written to describe the data. The new schemas were then used to generate forms in the new CMS which allowed the editorial team to add new content in a compliant manner.

With this accomplished numerous facetted SOLR indexes were wrote to index the data which was then made available to the appropriate PAL teams to re-assemble without making any changes to the current look and feel of the CBeebies website.
