Work with Aerian and not only are you in totally safe hands for all things forge, cms, and fiddly website build but you'll really enjoy working with them. Primary Languages would not be the site it is without them and we greatly appreciate the many extra miles the guys go to to get everything done outstandingly well.

BBC Primary Languages

Client: BBC
Launch date: 13/10/2010

Primary Languages is a new BBC Learning website teaching the subjects French, Spanish and Mandarin to the KS2 learning group. Each language features educational resources for children including lessons, photo galleries, songs and audio clips, video content and a set of educational Flash games. The site has been designed to later include teaching resources and activities for parents to aid in their child's learning.

The site was build using PHP, MVC and Zend and features entirely editorially controlled content managed through Alfresco web forms. The site also benefits from data retrieval from Solr indexes and temporary XML content storage in Memcache. Primary Languages was built as a Phase 2 launch partner of the BBCs new Alfresco based Content Management System and thus is currently the only Learning site to feature this new BBC initiative. The page build is particularly impressive, featuring editorially controlled navigation modules which can be edited, removed and re-ordered into any combination.
