BBC languages

BBC languages is a massive online repository of language based learning materials. The BBC has created something truly wonderful to help people pick up any popular language, to whatever level they wish. BBC languages has a massive slew of activities, quizes, crosswords,interactive videos, games and challenges to help making the learning enjoyable and effortless.
We've produced a variety of work for languages. Our main two tasks were to transfer all the old content, which had been designed some years previous, into the new design and also to remove all the depricated code. We did this using a combination of regex, XSSI and hand coding. We also refactored the interactive flash movies on the site to make them also fall into the new designs.
Our other major task was to create a new, content managed system for the future, with interactive content provided through XSLT, javascript and AJAX.
BBC languages is a gargantuan job, but we love these guys so it's always been fun. Visit them now, they do a wonderful job BBC Languages
