BBC Media Action (formerly The BBC World Service) approached Aerian Studios when they wanted to provide a mobile accessible version of their live Olympic feeds.

We built a module using javascript and server side includes which could consume some live BBC feeds from the Olympics and convert names, sports and section names to the appropriate language. This module works with 27 mobile sites that are designed to be available to sports fans in 3rd World countries. These sites are viewed in Africa, India, China and beyond.

Olympic fans can use the module to find information on upcoming events, which highlights events within the next 5minutes. They can also check up on the latest gold medalists, which shows the latest gold medals won and by whom. Finally they can keep up to date on the medal table which lists the top five countries and then below the line the rank of any countries that use the same language.
